Jessie J breaks down each track from her album Who You Are

The amazing Jessie J has dropped her debut album ‘Who You Are’ today. Following her success with her twp singles, the album should top the charts as well. Check out Jessie break down each track.

Price Tag:I co-wrote Price Tag with Claude Kelly (aka moon head) and Dr Luke (aka Coconut Man) (and I’m Pea) about 4 months after we wrote Party In The USA for Miley Cyrus. It was inspired by my life at the time, feeling like money ruled everything and everyone was so serious in their shades. Having B.O.B and Devlin both feature on the original and the remix was so amazing because I think they both add something extra special.

Nobody’s Perfect:This song is in my top three favourites on the album. It’s one of the most honest and raw songs on there and I’m so happy it’s officially my next UK single. Every time I sing it I relive the moment that I wrote it about. I think it’s important to expose your flaws in music as well as your positives. As it says, Nobody’s Perfect.

Abracadabra:
Luke, Claude and I wrote this song the same week we wrote Price Tag. I wanted to record something inspired by my favourite throwback artists like Mary J Blige, Whitney and Mariah. It’s one of my secret favourites on the album because unlike some of the others on YouTube etc, no one has heard it yet. It’s nice to have surprises!

Big White Room:
I call this song my comfort blanket song. It was the first one I ever wrote when I was 17 and it’s the only song recorded live on the album. We recorded and reproduced it so many times but for some reason it never felt right, like it was missing something. I think the live recording at Scala in London with Ben on guitar was perfect. It joins ties together all the pieces in my journey.

Casualty Of Love:Currently my single in the US. Good times! What I love about C.O.L. is that not everybody believed in it. It was a song I had to fight for and I’m glad I did. I put it on YouTube and the amazing reaction from my fans helped my argument! So thank you heartbeats. We won! Muhaha!

Rainbow:I loved recording this song. It was one of the first songs I felt comfortable to do voices and characters on. It’s about accepting everyone from all walks of life. I listen to this on FULL BLAST. "We’re the colours of the rainbow"!

Who’s Laughing Now:This song always makes me laugh. I have had so many supporters but also many non-believers and this track is my "haha" to them. As I say: "Let the haters hate, they’re like way too late!"

Do It Like A Dude:This is the quickest song I’ve ever written. There’s no hidden message. It just is what it is. I’ve always wanted to write a song that makes girls want to run out of the toilets to dance to and everybody needs a club track on their album.

Mamma Knows Best:This is one of the old school tracks that’s stuck with me for five years. I feel like this song has helped my career as it was the YouTube video that first helped me get noticed.

L.O.V.E.:One of the first love songs I ever wrote. I actually recorded it and never wanted anyone to hear it because love is super personal but the song just kept coming back to me and I thought sod it, it’s obviously meant to be heard. I definitely think it’s a wedding song – Kate and Will, holla at your girl!

Stand Up:Every lyric in this song is what I live my life by. I had the title tattooed on my wrist on the 31st of December 2009. It’s one of the originals. So glad it made the album.

I Need This:I decided to put this on the album as I thought it was nice to show my version of a song that has already been used by Chris Brown. I wrote it about my life going from normal to not so normal and how I needed my friends and family to understand that I needed space to grow.

Who You Are:This song saved my life musically. The day before I wrote this song I was ready to give up music. It’s amazing how three-and-a-half minutes of melody and lyrics can change your life and I’m so happy that not only has it saved my life but it’s saving other people’s. That’s why my debut album is called Who You Are.

Rihanna to re-make The Bodyguard?

The Bajan superstar is apparently catching the eye of Warner Bros, who are interested in re-making the film ‘The Bodyguard’, created in 1992. Whitney Houston was the original star of this film which gave her career a huge boost and showed off her amazing voice even more. So it seems that now Rihanna may play the role of Rachel Marron, if it goes ahead. Other stars that are rumoured to be given a chance at this role also are Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus (I don’t think it could work if either of them were given the role). The original bodyguard was played by Kevin Costner, this time round apparently, he is expected to be replaced by a former Iraq war veteran, who lands the role after returning from action.

The interested re-makers have stated that the classic film will be altered with a modern twist, the character Rachel will be tracked down by a obsessive, stalker/fan by Facebook, Twitter and Google Maps. They stated "The goal is to take a young female singer with global appeal and give her the platform that The Bodyguard did Houston".

To be fair this film is still amazing, I don’t think it could be re-made to the same standard. The modern twists just don’t seem right? Whitney’s voice is amazing and it’s reflected in the movie, comparisons will just be made between the two. I don’t think Rihanna and Whitney can be compared. We will have to wait and see. Watch this space…

Dr Dre Ft. Eminem & Skylar Gray - I Need A Doctor (official video)

Eminem reaches 1 billion views on Youtube

Eminem has reached 1 billion views on his Youtube channel. He's only recently released his new material and in the last 6 months has gained a whole bunch of views on Youtube! He's the 3rd person to reach this milestone, he's just behind pop stars Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. This is pretty huge for a Hip-Hop artist as there always seems to be some negative press around this genre of music. Justin Bieber is in first place, followed by Lady Gaga and then Eminem. Rihanna is said to break the billion mark within the next few weeks as well! The recovery star is also the second most popular person on Facebook, however Lady Gaga is still the queen of Twitter.

Beyonce darkens her skin for magazine shoot

Beyonce has had some controversial views towards her on how over time it seems she's looking more Caucasian than the dark skinned woman she used to be. Nowadays you see her rocking the blonde hair leaving the dark curls she once had behind. Recently she has darkened her skin for a magazine shoot celebrating it’s 90th birthday. The vibe if the shoot was African queen and goddesses. Beyonce mentions that the great Fela Kuti inspired her for new album. Which is said to be nearly complete, maybe just in time for the show she is headlining, Glastonbury. Either way she looks hot but she does seem to look a lot lighter these days, she should be proud of the natural skin colour she has.

Nicki Minaj on life

Nicki Minaj is known for her eccentric fashion and personality. She's not scared to pull a few faces and tell you what you don't want to hear. She is the cover girl for the new edition of BlackBook magazine and said some words about her ugly faces and her life.
On Twitter?
All of those people who follow me on Twitter? They aren’t my friends. Some of them are fans, but many of them are people who hate my guts and are just waiting for me to tweet something that they can put on their blogs. It’s easy to see two million followers and think, Look at all these people who love me! But not all of them love me. Whether I’m smiling or not, I know that people are always waiting for me to slip up.

 Romantically Linked to Diddy?
God, no! It was so disgusting to me that people would even link me and him. I grew up watching him. I look at him like a Russell Simmons figure, definitely not as someone I’d be getting it poppin’ with.

On the Lady Gaga comparisons?
We both do the awkward, non-pretty thing. What we’re saying—what I’m saying, anyway—is that it’s okay to be weird. And maybe your weird is my normal. Who’s to say? I think it’s an attitude we both share.

On her style?
When I started making those weird voices, a lot of people told me how whack it was. ‘What the f*ck are you doing?,’ they’d say. ‘Why do you sound like that? That doesn’t sound sexy to me.’ And then I started saying, ‘Oh, that’s not sexy to you? Good. I’m going to do it more. Maybe I don’t want to be sexy to you today.’
I’m definitely playing a role, I’m an entertainer, and that’s what entertainers do. That’s what people pay for. They don’t pay to see me roll out of bed with crust in my eyes, and say: Hey guys, this is me, authentic. They pay for a show. When I started doing all that weird stuff, I never thought in a million years that it would mean more people would start listening to my music, It was basically a ‘f*ck you’ to everyone who told me what to do and who to be.

On fame?
I’ve always wanted fame..but when I achieved fame, I started realizing that it wasn’t as important as being great at what you do, or being critically acclaimed. Still, I never wish I wasn’t famous.
I’ve lost my peace of mind. I no longer know who’s my friend or my enemy. I don’t know if they’re calling me because they like me or because they want a photo op, and that’s not a good feeling. I’m always second-guessing everyone, trying to figure out, Who is this person, and what do they want from me? Most people don’t treat me like a human being. I’ve become an image, a persona, a robot: ‘Stand there, take a picture, and smile.

Best of the Best - MTV BASE Top 10 MC’s of 2010

MTV Base aired The Top 10 MC's of 2010 on Sunday. A few music experts put their heads togehter and discussed the best MC's of 2010. The panel of judges were: Chantelle Fiddy (Mixmag), Elijah (Butterz), Hattie Collins (RWD), Logan Sama (KISS), Ara (The Jump Off), Joseph ‘JP’ Patterson (MTV), Ras Kwame(Broadcaster), Charlie Sloth (1Xtra/Radio 1)Stanza (True Tiger and Donatella (Flava) and the show was hosted by Vis from 1Xtra.

This list was always going to be controversial, only 10 MC's to sum up 2010 is hard to put together, on who get's left out and who get's put in the list. Reports state that apparently the list was changed just before being released due to pressure. The original and changed list is shown below.

Original list

Tinie Tempah

Skepta
Wiley
D Double E
Devlin
Wretch 32
Professor Green
Giggs
Maxsta

Changed List

Tinie Tempah
Dizzee Rascal (added)
Skepta
Pro Green
Wiley
Giggs
Devlin
P Money
D Double E
Chipmunk (added) and Lowkey

Max, radio presenter from 1Xtra had soemthing to say on it all and she didn't hold back.

'I have been in the game long enough to have an opinion and not be fake. MTV BASE tonight aired their Top 10 MC’s of 2010 as decided by a bunch of music industry folk. This Top 10 was said to be based on success heat and ability. However 2 major names in the game were left out Dizzee Rascal and Chipmunk, due to pressure the list was changed a day before filming the special happened, Lowkey was added as a late addission to … I feel it’s important for you the music fan to see what really goes on behind the scenes sometimes. I want to big up Steve Stoute one of the most influential men in the game for inspiring me to share this list after his open letter to the Grammy organisation for being unfair.' She added
'How can you leave out 2 artists that have made such an impact in music, Dizzee has had 7 straight numbers 1’s, Chipmunk has had a sold out tour put out mixtapes and featured on some of the biggest street tracks recently including ‘Pow 2011′ and ‘Gameover’, and only add them due to pressure. And let’s not forget the criteria set by them success?? not your
fav MC???'
Ghetts and Klashnekoff had something to say and decided to show all on youtube. I think that because Ghetts hasn't stayed quiet about this shows his passion. Check it out below.
